Dear Valued Fit Hub Customers,
I believe we all need to act sooner rather than later to help prevent the potentially catastrophic spread of the virus on the Isle of Man.
I have kept the Fit Hub open up to now feeling that it's safe enough with it being private and isolated. That may be the case but trying to keep on top of keeping the Fit Hub sterile feels impossible.
How do I know how much is enough cleaning? Do I disinfect every piece of equipment after every visit? How do I know the air isn't contaminated for the next customer's visit?
Keeping the Fit Hub open no longer sits right with me.
We can't just wait until it's too late.
People still don't seem to understand the massive risks they're taking by carrying on as normal - just like they did in Italy until it was too late and their health service became completely overwhelmed.
We shouldn't be gathering and socialising together.
As such, from Sunday 22nd March 9:30pm the Fit Hub will close until further notice.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience and frustration this may cause.
Please remember that because there is no expiry time on access tokens, any tokens you have purchased will still be valid when we reopen and I thank you in advance for your patience.
Any bookings from Monday will be cancelled and tokens credited back to your balance. I'll contact everyone with bookings individually.
I've worked really hard over the last few years to get the Fit Hub up and running and will continue with my efforts to keep it going, but for now it's time to put health and the community first.
If it helps you out we've got some equipment available to rent. Please see Facebook for further info.
We are also considering offering a home workout of the week to keep you going, on a donation basis. Keep an eye on Facebook for details.
Please forgive the preaching but please be responsible and make sure you do your bit to help avoid overwhelming our NHS over the coming weeks / months.
I look forward to welcoming you back to the Fit Hub in the future.
Stay safe. Stay well.
Very best wishes,
